loveThis week was a busy week here in the Detroit area, God is moving my friend!

Here's a few testimonies for the week:

On Wednesday I went down to church again to I Am My Brothers Keeper Ministries for bible study.  It was a wonderful blessing!

Gary did the teaching on 'time' since it is the New Year and this is the time of the year where people think about, well, time.  The meeting was good and it was wonderful to see that most of the folks there participate, and not just sit there being preached at, folks were attentive and listening to every word.

During the course of the meeting a few folks that I recognized from last Sunday entered the meeting and I could tell that they were strung out on drugs, they looked totally different than they did when I met them. But check this out, I was sitting a few rows in front of Cass and the guys actually came for him, I could hear them talking something (although I could not tell what they wer talking about) and Cass got up and left with them, her returned about 20 minutes later.

After the meeting I went to introduce myself to him and chat with him for a bit, it was truly an honor.  He told me that he really didn't know the guys that well but they asked him if he thought that they should enter a rehab center.  Cass told them that surely it could be a good thing, and it would be good for them to get cleaned out.  They agreed and he drove them down to the rehab center but before he let them go he prayed for them and gave them his phone number with instructions for them to call him as soon as they got out.

It's not easy for Cass to do anything, he only has one leg!  But one thing I do know, his heart is the size of the state of Michigan!  You only need to be with him for about 2 seconds to feel the love of Christ comng from him.

Cass told me that he hs no idea why they came to him, it's funny that he doesn't recognize it but I immediately did.  Throughout the gospel people with every kind of sickness, disease, physical ailment and demon posession came to Him, and He healed them all.  People know that Cass has been set free from addiction and they come to him because the Lord sends them, they know that what he has (in Christ living in him) is real.  I told him 'my brother if you and I were stuck in a pit and you got out, who do you think I would go to for directions on getting out?'

Cass is an amazingly humble man with a humble spirit.

After the meeting I was talking to Brother Virgil and he asked me whether or not I had met Henry Covington before he went to be with the Lord and I told him 'no'.  It really bothered me, badly.  I've been following the stories in the newspaper about this ministry for quite a long time now, even before the book and the movie but never actually 'found the time' to get up off my rear end and go down there.  Maybe tomorrow...  Unfotunately for me, tomorrow never came, don't wait until tomorrow my friend!

My eyes welled up with tears and brother Virg looked at me and said the most amazing thing that ever could be said about a person:

"It's ok brother, if you know Jesus, you knew him"

Well I know Jesus, and my brother Henry must have been an amazing man!  What a heavenly compliment this was and Virg never even thought about it.

If people can say the same thing about me after I'm gone, what a wonderful life I have lived!  Consumed by His glory!
