I Have Been Redeemed - Vineyard Music

Written by

You can listen to the song by pressing the Play button at the bottom of this post!

If you have ever been struggling with depression, listen to this song and think about Jesus.  At times I've listened to this song over and over and over for hours at a time because it was ministering to my soul.

The first verse says it all "When I am lost, when I am all alone, burdened by my sin and shame (just when you think it's hopeless...  NO!), There's one place I can go, I look towards the cross..."

Friends, I love you so much, I pray that the Holy Spirit would use this song to touch your heart as much as He has used it to touch mine!

When I am lost
When I am all alone
Burdened by my sin and shame
There's one place I can go

I look towards the cross
Where my Savior died
Suffered in my place
The perfect sacrifice
For me, so I can know...

Now I am forgiven
I have been set free
Through the blood of Jesus
I have been made clean
Now I know of His mercy because He
died for me

Jesus our Awl in All

Written by
If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you, he will work for you six years. But you must set him free in the seventh year. When you set him free, do not send him away with nothing. Give him much from your flock, from your grain, and from your wine. Give to him as the Lord your God has given to you.  Remember that you were servants in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God set you free. And so I am telling you today to do this. But he may say to you, ‘I will not leave you,’ because he loves you and those of your house and gets along well with you.

Then take a sharp tool and put it through his ear into the door. And he will be your servant forever. Do the same with your woman servant.

It should not be hard for you to set him free for he has worked for you six years. He has been worth twice as much as a man paid to work for you. The Lord your God will bring good to you in whatever you do.
~Deuteronomy 15:12-18
An awl

This is an awl, notice that is not like a nail which
has a thin profile.

There are things that are hidden is scripture that are truly wonderful! The whole bible is full of gems that are hidden and available to anyone that is willing to start the mining process. Priceless minerals are hard to come by, they take much work to uncover, no one just finds precious stones laying on the surface of the ground, they have to be mined.

This scripture seems to be pretty bizarre if you look at it through a carnal mind!

So let me get this right, if a slave loves his master he expresses that love to his master, his master then takes the man to a judge (Exodus 21:6) to witness this act and then proceeds to drive an awl through the mans ear into the door frame!

Let's stop for a minute and go through the thought process that the 'slave' who loves his master HAS TO go through in his mind PRIOR TO this process taking place.

Slave's Brain (this is what he thinks): "You know this man that the Lord has placed me under in slavery has been so good to me! I mean look at all the things that the Lord has blessed me with while under his care, I'm so thankful!!! Thank you Lord, I can't thank you enough, You have been so good to me!

And if that wasn't enough, you actually caused me to LOVE this man Lord? Wow, this is truly amazing, in return I LOVE HIM so much that I don't have any desire to go anywhere else. I think I'm going to go to my master and tell him my desire to stay with him."

Satan's Counter to Slave's Brain: "Are you FREAKING NUTS? Do you realize that the ceremony for this process involves driving a stake through your flesh into a wooden door frame? Do you know how much that will hurt? Additionally, not only will it scar you for the rest of your life, but you will be this man's slave FOREVER!!! What happens if he decides to abandon you? What if he comes on hard times and he can't afford to pay you any more?"

Slave's Brain: "I don't really care what it will cost me, I love this man and his family, lets move!"

This is what a person would actually go through in their mind prior to the process, this really happened, it's not just some 'story'!

This is the root of a major problem in the 'institutions masquerading as the church' today. Many people have accepted a gospel that has cost them nothing.

Let's look at something that Jesus said:

For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? “Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ “Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to encounter the one coming against him with twenty thousand? “Or else, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. “So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.
~Luke 14:28-33

Notice that the Lord does not lower the bar here, he specifically states that you cannot be a disciple without giving up EVERYTHING, notice to be His disciple!

It doesn't cost you a little, it doesn't cost much, IT COSTS EVERYTHING. Any gospel that a person accepts that doesn't make this truth known is not the full gospel. When a person is REALLY REGENERATED and has truly been born again, this is not a problem for them, in fact it's their JOY!

This is why there is a stumbling block in front of a rich man that is not present for a poor person, the poor person has an advantage!

The rich man hears the gospel message and immediately starts to think about how much it will cost him, business relationships, friends, family, money, etc. and it causes him to stumble.

The poor man looks at this in a different way! He doesn't have much to give up so he's happy to give everything to the Lord! His perspective is: "You mean I get all of this? I get a loving Father who will take care of me for the rest of my days? A Father who will speak to my heart and heal me? A Father that will be with me not just today but forevermore? Praise the Lord!!! Here, take everything!!! What must I do to be saved?"

We have millions of people who have went to altars, 'said prayers' and were never regenerated, they now have a form of religion...

Which Jesus?

The sad state of affairs in Western Christianity is: nowadays you have to ask a person which Jesus they accepted.

If you are honest and observant, you'll notice that there are many jesus' today, quite frankly I was ignorant to this fact for about 16 years of my born again life. Listen to how the Lord revealed this to my heart:

I was driving home from work one day (I can still recall the intersection that I was at) listening to someone preaching about the people of Israel and how they had made the golden calf and claimed that 'it was the God who delivered them from Egypt'. I was thinking in my heart 'this is utterly ridiculous, these people saw the Lord part the Red Sea, they walked through on dry ground! They didn't just hear stories about walking through the Red Sea, they actually did it and now they are claiming that this lifeless gold calf is the one that delivered them?'

As clear as day and so foreign to my thought process at the time, the Lord spoke to me in my spirit "THIS IS STILL HAPPENING TODAY!"

I was shocked and instantly asked the Lord 'What do you mean?', over time he has showed me the golden calf.

The golden calf has it's own gospel, it's the 'gospel of you'.

Everything that the Lord does, is for you, your satisfaction is His highest goal. You should be prosperous, healthy, and trouble free!

You should speak positive things, you should hang out with successful people, you should think positive thoughts, you should read positive books, you will have a positive life, and you will go to heaven when you die.

If you notice, you can do all of these things without Christ, His life was unnecessary.

Empires have been built using this new age, golden calf gospel. You think the term 'Empire' is out of line here?

Consider the empire of (insert mega-pastor's name here), if you are honest with yourself and consider all of the assets of (insert mega-church here), the river of finances and management skills that it takes to run it you will recognize that I'm not using this word out of context.

The gospel of the golden calf causes rivers of gold to come your way because the anti-Christ message is so deceptive:

"Now it's OK to store up treasures on Earth, now it's OK to have giant houses, now it's OK to drive the best cars, why should you have to sacrifice anything? Your jesus died for this" By jesus I mean another jesus, because the Gospel of Jesus Christ says just the opposite, this is why the 'gospel of you' is anti-Christ, it's 180 degrees from the real gospel message.

There are now 'houses of you worship' that preach 'the gospel of you' in every city in the United States, and the list preachers desiring to preach this false gospel is growing and growing, the congregations of these anti-Christ churches are growing and growing! This is a 'guilt free' chrisianity, we don't hear anything about serving jesus, our jesus serves us, we have preeminence and our 'servant jesus' is good with that.

We don't talk about the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the fact that it's an absolute, 100 percent, can't live without, necessity for regeneration (or being born again). Without conviction of the Holy Spirit and acknowledgment of the utter rebellion of YOURSELF (fallen man) there IS NO SALVATION.

However, entrance into the 'kingdom of you' is quite different, to get into the 'kingdom of you' all you have to do is respond to an altar call and agree with a few statements in your mind:

You must agree that a historical figure named Jesus once existed, agree in your mind that this historical Jesus figure died with the purpose of 'forgiving' (this is key, 'forgive', not cleanse) man of his sins, and that this historical Jesus died and rose on the third day (well this one is optional, you just have to say yes when we ask you). Congratulations!!! You are now in, we've updated our database and added one more to the 'souls saved' figure on website and newsletter! Next week we will tell all of the congregation how much we are growing and how important their giving is!!!

By the way, here's your get into heaven free card, you're saved with this card, you are free to live just like your neighbor, never change or have the desire to change! Simply present this card upon arrival of the gates of heaven and our jesus will be there waiting for you with open arms!

The Great Falling Away

Is it any wonder that Paul warns about a 'great falling away'?

When the word 'great' is used in the Word you can be sure that it means just that 'GREAT' not minor!

When 'the gospel of you' church starts to receive a little persecution you can bet that there will be a GREAT falling away! Why? Because the gospel that this crowd has accepted is not the real gospel, and persecution does not fit into their belief system, it's completely foreign so they leave.

Persecution is used by the Lord to sift out that which is very valuable to Him, real saints. Look at what the Lord's testimony was regarding Job:

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” ~Job 1:8

This man, Job, already had a testimony in heaven that the Lord cherished, He knew that Job would never deny Him no matter how much Job was persecuted!

As I previously noted, the congregation of 'the gospel of you' often believes things that are totally the opposite of what the scripture teaches, let's take a look at something important...

The Days of Lot

In the seventeenth chapter of Luke, Jesus is talking about what it's going to be like right before He returns to the Earth:

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
~Luke 17:28-29

When a person reads this, you have to ask yourself 'Well, what WAS it like in the days of Lot?'

There was strife between Abram and Lot (men of faith being 'Abram' and men who play religion 'Lot')

There are a few different theory's regarding the state of the church and the return of Jesus for his bride, the only thing that I know is when He returns is His bride WILL BE READY.

Is Christ the Lord of your life? When He calls do you answer "Yes, Lord?"

The Lord is calling for His bride, and she is starting to take shape in the form that He has requested! The bride will give Him her all and her purity is sure, she is not running around with the world looking to be 'relevant' and adulterous.

To him with an ear, let him hear!

I sure hope that you do friend, please leave us a comment below the article and let us know how you are doing!

The Sheep and the Goats - David Servant

Written by

This is an excellent message by David Servant, if you ever wanted to hear from a 'pastor' who got a revelation on what the prosperity gospel REALLY is, listen to this message.

We studied this scripture in our home group last night and I wanted to post this message here for all of you as well, it really blessed me and I hope that it does the same for you!

We meet every Wednesday at 6 if you would like to stop by, we would really enjoy the chance to love on you.  We eat, and have fellowship, share a little about what is going on in our lives over the past week and someone will read a scripture or two.

Two-part testimony

Written by

I have to share this testimony. It's imparative that I do!

For years I have prayed for the salvation of someone I know. And I can say this now with absolute certainty, my prayers have been fruitless.

Today I was seeking the Lord regarding this situation. And the Lord revealed to me how His blood is very precious and expensive! He won't waste it on someone who doesn't want what it brings. Then I distinctly heard the Lord say, "Don't cast my pearls before swine!" I felt so convicted!  And here's why. Several years ago, I went in with someone and purchased a gift for this person I've been praying for. It wasn't a cheap gift, but we wanted to bless her.

This person recently told me how she would rather have a used item than the one she has. But when she was shopping for one, the person who went in with me on it, she wouldn't take her anywhere that had used ones. I felt like it didn't matter what we did or did not do, this person does not know how to be thankful. But thankfully, through this, I got a revelation on "casting pearls before swine."

In the midst of this conversation, my son began to complain of a horrible headache. In just a few minutes, his pain was at the point of being a migraine. I gave him a Tylenol PM and took him to the basement so he could lay on the couch where it is dark. My husband came down and we prayed for him. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt this was demonic in nature, so we bound this devil, the Lord rebuked him, and I believe it left. We left our son to rest in the darkness of the basement.

Not even 5 minutes later, our son was back upstairs, declaring his head to be just fine! He spent the rest of the evening bouncing around! So we praise the Lord together! Join with us!

A Brothers Love

Written by

I noticed this testimony yesterday and just had to pass it on, it's so beautiful.  This is an example of the pure love of Jesus, enjoy:

Some who may have read my post requesting prayer for my son know he is sick.

While the nausea medicine has helped and he is now able to keep down small amounts of fluids and foods, as of last night he was still unable to move at all. He is able to manage the spinning and motion sickness if he stays laying on his right side with his head tilted downward and his eyes closed. Of course after laying in this position since Saturday morning he has become discouraged.

Knowing this his younger brother decided to sit up with him most of the night. He talked to him, told him stories, and from time to time would stop and pray over his older brother to be healed. I watched him as he cared for his older brother by getting him sips of water, helping keep his mind off the spinning and attempting to entertain him. I also watched my older son lay there listening to his little brother, responding to him cheerfully with out getting annoyed even though he is sick.

As I watched them I realized that the this was seeing the love of CHRIST in action in both their lives. I was really struggling with discouragement at seeing my older son so sick but watching the two of them I found something to rejoice in, that through this time they were able to love one another, the younger was able to be a servant to his older brother during his time of need. The love of JESUS demonstrated in the lives of HIS...such a beautiful thing to behold!!

Doesn't that bring joy to your heart?  Thank you Mary!

'Like' a Fire - Jeremiah 20:9

Written by

"But if I say I'll never mention the LORD or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It's like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can't do it! "

-1Jeremiah 20:9

I've always heard this verse preached like 'Your word is so wonderful that I can't hold it in, I have to say something'.

The Lord gave me a slightly different revelation on it, if you swallowed a glowing ember from a fire you would do anything to get it out of your body, it would be very painful.  This is what Jeremiah meant, he could not hold the word of the Lord in OR it would burn him constanly, his only relief came through speaking it.

EarlA brother in the Lord has recently started posting messages regarding submission to authority and I wanted to to do a study of the Word and see what New Testament submission to authority looks like.

I'm not interested in doctrines of man, they have got us to the point where we are now. Could you take an honest assessment of the church today and determine that we are more like the the powerful early church, or less powerful? More obedient or less obedient?

We have fallen so much from were the early church was!

Why? I believe there is a simple reason for this, we don't take the WORD OF GOD seriously. I'm not going to use a couple of obscure, hidden, Old Testament scriptures to illustrate my point, I'm going to use two New Testament scriptures. I'm not even going to use tougher New Testament scriptures (that apply to us today) like the wearing of coverings.

To be sure Jesus told us very clearly that some sins are worse than others, and He told us that some commandments are more important than others as well.

Let's take a look:

So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. ~Matthew 5:19

The point of this article is to show you how easily we take direct COMMANDS of Jesus and disobey them, treat them as 'no big deal'. We deem this scripture more important than that scripture and determine in our hearts that this one here needs to be obeyed, that one there 'not so much'!

Submission to the Word of God

As Christians we are called first and foremost to submit ourselves to God.

How do we do this? We do this by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and doing what He says. He will always agree with what the written word (CHRIST) says, Jesus IS THE WORD and THE WORD IS JESUS. John 1 tells us:

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God  ~John 1:1

There is nothing that Christ Jesus said that we can casually brush off and not pay attention to! The Word is not like a buffet table where you can take the diced ham and leave the peas on the salad bar.

SIDEBAR: A friend of mine is heavily involved in ministry to Muslim's, in one of my discussions with him I noticed that he took umbrage (rightly so) with a new bible translation that removed the fact that Jesus is the Son of God from the new translation in order to appeal to the Muslim crowd because 'the conception' is a major hangup to devout Muslim's.

After giving some thought to what we talked about I can see what an issue it would cause later on.

If a Muslim should read this translation and then be 'regenerated' what is going to happen later on when he reads the correct translation of the Word? If he was anything like me he would be asking (rightly so) "Ok, which testimony is right? What scriptures do we believe and obey and which ones do we ignore?"

While this would make the head of an evangelical spin, we do the exact same thing...

Trusting

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ~Proverbs 3:5-6

We talk about this scripture a lot but we really don't obey it much, in fact we teach the opposite, here's the way that this is interpreted in the evangelical bible:

Trust in your understanding with all your heart, and when you understand God's Word submit to it. ~Evangelicalism 101

I know what you are saying! Earl, why are you making bombastic, ridiculous statements, you must have an axe to grind with someone! Well, let me show you a scripture that is disobeyed EVERY DAY, EVERY WEEK in nearly EVERY CHURCH in the Western World.

When is the last time that you went to church and said "Hi Pastor!" only to have the 'pastor' take you aside and tell you something like this:

"I appreciate what you are trying to do, but please don't refer to me as 'pastor', just Bob will do, we're all brothers..."

A bunch of folks that I know like to take this scripture and use it as a weapon agains Catholics, but they disobey it themselves when they refer to someone as 'pastor':

“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. ~Matthew 23:5-12

Here we go again, I know what you're saying, 'you just have an axe to grind with authority because of rebellion in your heart'. Did you notice how quickly the accuser of the brethren told you that?

Notice the onus of that commandment, Jesus puts the responsibility of carrying it out on both the person calling someone 'father' (do not call anyone on earth ‘father,) and the 'pastor, teacher, rabbi' himself (But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi).

Why is this important?

I'll tell you why, because it sends a hidden message to people that consider themselves to be 'general laity'. There is no general laity concept in the Word, we are all considered priests according to 1 Peter 2:9:

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ~1 Peter 2:9

As I wrote earlier I beleive (my opinion here) that this is the reason that we are not fulfilling the Great Comission. As long as 'the guy on the podium' is a priest, and I am not, then it's HIS responsibility to preach the gospel, not mine. This is a FATAL ERROR!

What is the message?

Let's say Joe believer is newly converted and the fire of God is burning in his heart, between church services he is devouring the Word of God because the Holy Spirit is leading him to read, read, read. Now he gets to Matthew 23 and asks himself "Why DO people allow themselves to be called pastor?". This is a legitimate question because the Word DIRECTLY FORBIDS IT. He goes to church and asks someone, "Hey Bill, how come we don't follow what the Word says in Matthew 23 regarding being called teacher, rabbi, apostle, prophet, pastor etc.?" He receives some wordy excuse regarding why this scripture is not relevant to us today.

Do you see the message being sent?

Here's the message:

If the so called 'pastor' of this group of believers is free to interpret the clearly written scriptures in a way that benefits himself, then so am I. No one has to tell you this, it's implied. When leadership is free to obey what they want, and disgard what they don't, then so are the rest of the sheep. Otherwise there are two standards, one for you and one for everyone else.

So when pastor so and so is upset about why people aren't listening to his messages, he has himself to blame because, by default he's saying one thing and living another, people are not going to listen to you if you are not walking in obedience yourself. Our testimony should be one of simple obedience to the simply written Word of God.

Imagine I went into my living room and told my kids 'please go clean your room' and after I walked out they started chatting among themselves "What is this strange new teaching that dad has given us? I don't understand why dad told us to do this, when I understand it I'll do it! What deep spiritual message was dad trying to convey to us?"

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Yet we do it all the time...

Here's another one:

DO NOT store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ~Matthew 6:19

The evangelical crowd likes to skip this and go right to Matthew 6:33 and the "all these things shall be added to you" part as if Jesus is somehow contradicting what He said in verse 19, He does not.

DO NOT, means the same thing to every person, every time that it's written. The words in "DO NOT commit adultery" mean the same thing that they do in Matthew 6:19 'DO NOT store up for yourselves treasures on earth'. We make a grave error when we emphasize this, and de-emphasize that.

Here's the way that evangelicals add to this scripture:

Except for you, INSERT YOUR NAME HERE, DO NOT store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ~Matthew 6:19

And just to be sure, what does the Word of God say about adding to and taking from the Word?

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. ~Revelation 22:18

Brothers and sisters, my motivation (as always) is to see the church walking in the power that was intended for us to walk in, not to be critical.

I'm tired of revival tarrying! I'm tired of hearding 'used to be', 'used to do', 'used to happen'. I want to see a victorious revived church welcome back the King of Kings!

Well, brother Paul said it better than I ever could:

For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband--Christ. ~2 Corinthians 11:2

I share Paul's heart in this!

My motive is to present you as a pure bride to Christ when He returns, nothing less. Pray that I would remain pure as well, I love you much!!

~Much Love

Bring Back the Fire - Jason Bellard (with lyrics)

Written by

Thank the Lord for precious brother Jim, he turned me on to Jason Bellard! I transcribed the lyricsfor his song "Bring Back the Fire", you can reach him on Facebook here.
Was hoping to get a hold of him so that I could get the chords too! :-)

I remember the moment I first put my life in
Your hands the day You set me free
And the excitement and passion were ever so bright
As Your fire burned deep within me

Now the romance is lifted and I'm being sifted
This day by day walk setting in
Oh my cup seems half empty
I need you to fill me
Lord bring back the fire again

Bring back the fire
Bring back what once burned ever so bright
Bring back the fire
It's my desire, It's my desire
Lord bring back the fire…

I remember the moment I first put my life in
Your hands the day You set me free
And the excitement and passion were ever so bright
As Your fire burned deep within me

Now the romance is lifted and I'm being sifted
This day by day walk setting in
And my cup seems half empty
I need you to fill me
Lord bring back the fire again

Bring back the fire
Bring back what once burned ever so bright
Bring back the fire
It's my desire, It's my desire

And I know that you can't fully burn
Till you've burned up this finite car-nal-i-ty
Lord I don't mean to be this way it seems like a pattern
And I need you to deliver me

So Lord burn away the dross
Burn away the dross
Burn away the dross
No one count the cost

So Lord Burn away the dross
Burn away the dross
Burn away the dross
Burn away and...

Bring back the fire
Bring back what once burned ever so bright
Bring back the fire
Bring back the first love in my life
Bring back the fire
Bring back what once burned ever so bright
Bring back the fire
It's my desire, It's my desire Lord!

The Speck

Written by

EarlOne of the things that amazes me about Jesus is the way that He taught amazing, eternal truths using language that even the simplest of people can understand. Isn't He wonderful?

Take the following verses from Matthew:

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
~Matthew 7:3-6

There is so much to learn here in only FIVE sentences!

There are some obvious things here that everyone who is a Christian (an even non-Christians) know.

Here is the obvious teaching:

"Make sure you are not in the same sin that you see in someone else before helping out another brother or sister."

The bigger sin in this story is the hypocrisy of the person who is 'removing the speck', it's much bigger than the little piece of sawdust!

Here's a little revelation that I got about this story

If you have children you will probably remember a time when they got a little piece of dirt in their eye. It's amazing how a little tiny piece of dirt can make even the largest man stop in his tracks and focus on one little piece of dirt.

Think about how gentle, surgical, and loving we approach removing this piece of dirt from our chilren's eye! We don't roughly start poking around in there with our fingers, no way! We set them down in an area where there are no particles floating in the air so that we don't cause worse problems. We take them to the light, so that we can see what we are doing. Then we gently pull back the eyelid to see if we can see the speck of dirt, from there we WASH AWAY the dirt with some water very, very, gently...

Water can do more damage when not used correctly, can you imagine trying to use a fire hose to rinse someone's eye? We need to listen to the Spirit of the Word and apply it like Jesus would, "for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Corinthians 3:6).

This is the way that a loving brother and sister will help you with a sin. First of all they love you enough to say something about it, very important there! Secondly, they care for your welfare enough to be very gentle and carefully, remove the speck. This is Christian love.

Look at the following verse, it's attached to the first 'speck' parable:

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
~Matthew 7:6

Here's another way of stating this verse:

"You had better make sure that the person that you are 'removing the speck' from is a true brother or sister OR they might trample what you have said under their feet and then turn on YOU and TRAMPLE YOU to pieces."

We have no business correcting non-believers and trying to clean up their morals, this was the point in my previous thread "Consider This Before Casting Stones at the Gay Community".

Paul the apostle was executed by Nero, a man who ran the Roman Empire in arguably a 'more godless' fashion than anyone before him. Here's a quote that cites three separate sources:

He was known for having captured Christians burned in his garden at night for a source of light. This view is based on the writings of Tacitus, Suetonius, and Cassius Dio, the main surviving sources for Nero's reign.

Nero did not just execute Paul the apostle, he executed MANY believers. Yet as wicked as he was, you never hear of him or Rome's sins mentioned in the bible. Additionally, we don't hear of the church telling people to RISE UP against the evil republic of Rome, or to RESIST the evil republic of Rome.

Why? Because the believers in the early church understood the difference between the Kingdom of God, and the kingdoms of this world. They understood the difference and they had no desire to mix the two together.

Let's look at the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel's interpretation of the dream for some background:

Nebuchadnezzar has a dream and it disturbs him, he invites all of the 'wise men' of Babylon in to tell him the dream, and then to give an interpretation of the dream. (Daniel 2:26). The dream is of a statue that is made of four different 'levels':

The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.
~Daniel 2:32-33

This dream is about 4 different 'kingdoms' that will reign on the Earth prior to the second coming of the Messiah.

Notice the last one and the way that it's described in verse 2:42 and 43:

As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
~Daniel 2:42-43

Iron and clay will never mix and make anything strong, you cannot weld iron to clay and clay to iron.

All we hear now is that "America Needs to Turn Back to Morality!!" This message is anti-Christ, literally.

I haven't heard a single sensible person say 'why would we need to do that?'

Saudi Arabia is a VERY MORAL PLACE to live, they are very harsh on 'imorality,' is God helping them? I would venture to say that they are WAY MORE MORAL than the United States, yet they are no closer to Christ.

The end of the moralists life is the same hell as everyone else who rejects Christ.

What people do not get is: cleaning up a person's morals does ZERO for them, actually Jesus said that the person was worse off than before because now that 'religious person' is 'twice the Son of hell'. This is a separate classification than a run of the mill unbeliever.

There are two different kingdoms:

The Kingdom of God, and it's citizens who are believers.

The kingdoms of this world and it's God hating, unbelieving citizens.

Our responsibility to 'the kingdoms of this world and it's citizens' is to preach the gospel of the 'Kingdom of God' (the same thing that Jesus preached). Doing so will cause citizens of this world to renounce their citizenship to this world, be united to their new King, Jesus, and be transferred into the Lord's Kingdom by the regeneration of their spirit.

It is not to elect deceived Mormons (that think they are Christians) into office or reelect a false Christian who says one thing and does another. Yet you wouldn't think so by reading Facebook, you would think that it's our Christ given duty to ensure that a disciple of Joseph Smith is to be elected into office.

Confusing? Yes, another gospel is always confusing, confusing is THE MEANING of Babylon (or babel).

This mixture of worldliness and the Kingdom of God will never produce anything remotely holy, wonder WHY REVIVAL TARRIES?

This is why my friend, don't be deceived by 'the Christian right' OR 'the Christian left', be consumed with Christ and His Kingdom.

The Commandments of Christ

Written by

earl iconMany folks don't realize that Jesus gave commandments (laws) to His disciples, in fact you don't hear much about them at all.  One thing is for sure, when Jesus gives a commandment, it's not a suggestion.  It says in the book of John (John 5:19) that Jesus only said what He heard the Father say, so we can therefore understand that the 'commandments of Christ' are straight from the throne of the Father.

"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (lawlessness)." ~Matthew 7:23

The word iniqiuity there means "the condition without law" or lawlessness, you can check it out here.

For the next little while I'm going to detail some of the commandments that Jesus gave in the Sermon on the Mount, the greatest sermon ever preached.  My hope is that you will hear it as though it came straight from the heart of the Lord.  The last thing that we need is more Pharisees so please hear what follows in the manner in which it was written, pray for us that we will hear the Lord's heart and that we will 'rend our hearts and not our garments' (Joel 2:13).

"A sermon conceived in the head will effect the head, a sermon conceived in the heart will effect the heart" ~Leonard Ravenhill

I pray that the Lord would give me the heart and the voice to teach the teachings of Jesus, from His heart.  Join in and let the Holy Spirit work the hardness out of both of us.

The nice thing about the internet and writing is that I don't have a group of people that will walk out of a 'church' for teaching what teachers today do not teach, the lost sermons, the teachings of Christ, the teachings of the apostles.  When we return to the teachings of Jesus, with the same Spirit of Jesus, we will get the same results.

Bless you my brothers and sisters in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
